The Mesmerist

With this composition, I wanted to capture the liminal consciousness of the sleep walker, of someone awake but under the influence of another. The Mesmerist is one of my more hypnotic compositions where the melody makes subtle shifts on top of a metronomic chord progression. The fragile but unbreaking note of the viola are like a thread that the protagonist might leave, their only hope of finding their way back to reality.
